How do I Join?

Joining is Easy! To be eligible for membership of Clones Credit Union you must be living or working within our common bond area. The common bond is the factor which unites all the members of Clones Credit Union - it is what all members have in common i.e. where they live or work. Because of the common bond, all members have the good of their credit union at heart; they know and trust each other.

You need to present one document from each of the 3 categories below, pay a once off membership fee of €1 and a minimum of €6 in the account to keep it live.

The 3 documents below are required to join our Credit Union:

  1. Proof of Identification (must show proof of date of birth & recent photo), i.e. Current valid Passport, current valid Driving Licence, current valid I.D. Card
  2. Proof of Address (must show address where you currently live), i.e. Household Bill (e.g. ESB, Phone) or Bank or Building Society Statement (must be dated within last 6 months).
  3. Proof of PPS Number (acceptable forms: Payslip, Medical Card, Revenue Document. Please note, we cannot accept a Public Services Card for proof of PPSN).

Clones Credit Union Common Bond

Membership shall be limited to and consist of the signatories to the application to register the credit union and such other persons having the following common bond:

People living or working – 

  1. In Co Monaghan in the following townlands together with all the townlands to the west of the line formed by these townlands _ Kilcorran, Drummery, Mullaghglassan, Maghery, Clonamunsra, Annaghmartin, Corhollan, Magherarny, Ballintoppan, Killycoghill, Cornawall. Tattyngall, Lecklevra, Glasdrummond, Garran, Corramegan, Drumgarly, Mullaghgreenan, Rakeevan, Drumate, Feagh, Drumgristin, Drumaghakeel, Corlougharoe, Aghareagh, Correvan, Corrachulter, Cornawall, Lislea, Creeran, Derrins, Tullynample, Drumgrone, Drumurcher, Drumgaze.
  1. And in Co Fermanagh in the parish of Clones or in the following townland to the west and south-west of Clones – Drummusky, Magherareagh, Magheramore, Lislea, Mullynavannoge, Conkera, Bellmount, Cloncar, Gortgarvan, Carrigans, Clonumphry, Clonmaulin, Kilturk South, Loughkillygreen, Derrygoas, Derrybrack, Clongowna, Carra, Rabbit Island, Derrynure, Tievegarrow, Clonfard, Moleena, Sheepwalk, Cloncloghey, Cloncorick, Keelaghy, Cloncallick, Renegher Glebe, Teer, Lisnadurk, Aghnaskew, Hermitage - 

as have been duly admitted members of the credit union in accordance with these rules and comply with such of the rules as relate to membership and including, if otherwise qualified, such other persons as were members of the unincorporated body known as Clones Credit Union

immediately before the date on which such body secured registration as Clones Credit Union Limited.
